The Visit of Two Friends

In my staying in Frankfurt two friends went to visit me.

The first one was the Cunha (Cunha... Pedro Cunha!), which was also studying ERasmus in Liege (Belgium). Unfortunatelly he only stayed there for one day.
Here is a picture of us taken on the top of the highest visitable building in Frankfurt. The highest of all is the one possible to see behind us.

Some weeks later another friend went to visit me. She's called Joana and took some days of vacation to visit me :) One of my best friends ever!

As she saw, the people in Frankfurt are soooooo poooor!!

We had the fortune to be in the city by the ocasion of the Museums night! It works like this: we pay one only ticket that gives the entrance to some dozens of Museums, that are opened from the 19h to the 4h (something like that).

These pictures were taken in one of those museums.

After the museums we went to a party in the Botanical garden...

...which is really beautifull at night!

After that party we decided to take the chance to walk around the city! That night was great, one of the best ones in Erasmus. One of the best ones in 2005!

We went by Alte Oper;

Continued through the green ring;

And finally got to the park near the hotel where my friend was settled;

Us playing in that park while the sun was rising! :)

The next day (or that day but later, depends on the point of view...) we went to Hauptwache. Here is the view of that square, taken from the top of the Zeil gallery!

The interior of the Zeil gallery!

The cathedral!

A typical pub with the typical Apfelwine!

Sunday night! This was the only opened bar we found in the city, right in the middle of the Zeil Strasse (the main comercial street in Frankfurt).
Only later we found out that's a bar frequented by gays. Not that I have something against them, but it was a surprise the same!!

Knowing the city

Mostly in the first two months me and the people that were living close to me took some time to know the city.
The weather was always great, so were our tours!

Here are some pictures of the huge park that existed right behind my Wohnheim.

An attraction park. We had to try that rollercoaster there! :)

The U-Bahn station in Leipziger strasse, where the people used to go shopping.

The BCN building, where the people met on the first day, right in front of my department (that's the civil engineering one!)

Prague

Three weeks after getting to Frankfurt I had the chance to visit my father that was touring around Europe in a field trip.

I was there for some 4 days. Got there before the others, in the morning when it was still night.
The city was magical in those early mornings, with almost no one on the streets. After that, unfortunatelly, the tourist just ruined all of its lonelly beauty!

The following fotos are presented with the original chronological order.

A subway station, I liked the detail!
